The following is the tESTIMONY OF GYULA LAUDISZ, The NEW PASTOR AT Bannerville Alliance Church
I was born in Szeged, Hungary in 1962. At that time, the communist party was in control causing much civil unrest. My father was incarcerated quite a few times because of his disobedience to the political party, and my mother worked long hours and had two jobs. We struggled to put food on the table.
When I was 17 years old, my mother died, and my story begins from this place of heartbreak and pain. I began to abuse alcohol and prescription drugs to ease my pain. I served in the communist army for almost two years. One night during this rebellious stage of my life, I burned two flags and received two years in prison but was released on five years of probation.
Slowly but surely, I sank into sin and had no hope or will to live. One night, I decided to take my life, and that was the moment when the Lord revealed Himself to me. He saved my physical life and awoke the spiritual. I knew I had to start a new life, and I knew I had to get out of Hungary. This realization was immensely difficult for me because God was leading me out of my birth country.
After many miracles, I was given political asylum in the United States. I was able to transfer my education and working diplomas, and I became an American citizen. While at a lawyer’s office in Manhattan, I met a woman who gave me my first Hungarian Bible and invited me to attend First Alliance Church in Manhattan. The Lord’s influence through pastor Dr. Eugene McGee led me to surrender my life to the Lord, and I am grateful to say that I have been serving Him ever since.
I began my pastoral studies at Mercy College and then transferred to The Kings College in Briarcliff Manor, NY where I received my bachelor’s degree. I then went to the Alliance Theological Seminary.
When I thought God could not possibly change my life anymore, I met my wife, Linda, and we had two beautiful daughters together, Jessica and Cassandra. After serving as the pastor of Elim Alliance Church in Valley Cottage, NY for 18 years, I am now both excited and delighted to accept the position as Pastor of Bannerville Alliance Church.
I praise God for the incredible opportunity to teach and preach the Word of God.
