“Jesus’ love is the highest value!”
I recently received that text from G* in West Africa. On October 28, he chose to follow the Jesus path!
We rejoice in what the Spirit of God is doing here. Although the spiritual soil is often cementlike, we are beginning to see more and more openness among people of the majority religion.
We are teachers of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) at our English Center, a place where university students and young professionals come to develop their English skills. In the process, we are given the opportunity to engage relationally with them. Usually, about 20 percent of our students will participate in Experience God classes. About half of those, or about 15 students, will want to dig deeper into the Word with us. Discipleship at the center begins the moment our students are exposed to Biblical truth because much of what they’ve been told about Jesus and Christianity is false.
G began coming to our center about a year ago. My wife and I each taught him in our English classes, but what really lit him up was his attendance at our Animated Bible Stories class. We used The Word and VeggieTales to share some of the great stories of the Bible. The story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den captivated him to the degree that he is considering changing his name to Daniel. But as much as he loves Daniel, his love for Jesus is greater!
The other day he sent me this text, “The Son of God is special! His Love is wonderful!” He says his greatest challenge right now is sharing Jesus with his coworkers and soccer buddies. He’s not just a convert—he is a disciple-making disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ! We believe his good friend and our student “A” are also close to the Kingdom! Will you pray that he comes to know Jesus too?
We can represent Jesus in this tumultuous country because you have sent us! We yearn to see the numerous places of religion here become houses that worship the Lord Jesus!
At the close of the year, we have the opportunity to further invest in the mission to share All of Jesus for All the World through the 2021 Year-End Offering. Please prayerfully consider how you might help to increase the number of workers in the harvest field (Matthew 9:38). It is TRUE! “Whoever has the Son has life” (1 John 5:12)!
